In 1112 AD, the day after the Lantern Festival, Emperor Hui of Song was captivated by an extraordinary sight at the Xuan De Gate. Auspicious clouds surrounded the gate as celestial cranes performed a graceful dance in the sky. Two cranes leisurely landed on the gate's eaves, adding a tranquil charm to the scene. Inspired by this celestial spectacle, Emperor Hui created the masterpiece Auspicious Crane Painting.

This calligraphy work is presented in the Slender Gold Style, a distinctive style invented by Emperor Hui of Song. It represents a refined and elegant form of writing characterized by its slender, flowing lines and intricate brushwork.
