People: The Catalysts of Inspiration

Our journey begins with the everyday heroes whose stories ignite the flame of inspiration within us. Among them, I’d like you to meet Hanqing Fang, a renowned Chinese painter celebrated for his unique and captivating depictions of monkeys in traditional Chinese paintings. Mr. Fang has gained widespread acclaim for his ability to capture the essence and spirit of monkeys through brush and ink, infusing his works with a delightful blend of tradition and contemporary flair. He earned the laudatory title of Monkey King of Canton (Guangzhou, China) a long time ago, and his artistic prowess now adds a touch of cultural elegance to the collaborative canvas of PYG.

His salt-and-pepper hair hints at the passage of time and the wealth of skills acquired through a lifelong commitment to the arts. Behind a pair of gentle eyes lies a wellspring of creativity, ever observant and eager to translate imagination and humor onto canvas. Interestingly, his physical resemblance to a monkey adds a whimsical and personal touch to his art, creating a connection between the artist and his creations.

As he discusses his work and the collaborative venture with our company, his passion for the arts becomes palpable. Each sentence is infused with a contagious enthusiasm for the potential that collaboration holds. His studio, a sanctuary of creativity, is simple but stuffed with paintings, brushes, and ink.

His monkey-themed artworks often feature a restrained palette, expressive brushwork, and humor. Over the years, Mr. Fang's fame has spread beyond the art world, attracting attention from celebrities and art enthusiasts alike. Notably, his monkey paintings made it to the collection of Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games Stamps, and in 2023, he donated a scroll of Hundred Monkeys Painting to National Museum of China, spanning a length of 20 meters. It goes without saying that Mr. Fang's paintings are not just coveted pieces among art collectors but also symbols of joy and playfulness in the broader cultural landscape. As an artist who embodies the spirit of his chosen subjects, Mr. Fang continues to enchant audiences with his creative exploration of monkeys in Chinese art. And collaborating with Mr. Fang has enriched our artistic endeavors and brought forth a shared vision of promoting Chinese artistry. Personally, I really am grateful to him.

Places: The Canvas of Inspiration

At PYG, we take pride in curating collections that encapsulate the rich cultural tapestry of China, drawing inspiration from the treasures housed within the National Museum of China. It occurs to us that the beauty within any museums and galleries should be made accessible to everyone. Our six distinct categories of items include Bronze Crafts, Traditional Chinese Paintings, Calligraphy Works, Ceramic Tea Sets, Silks, and Figurines, echoing the vibrant stories and artistic expressions found within the museum's walls. From intricately designed bronze sculptures that pay homage to ancient dynasties to finely crafted ceramics that capture the essence of traditional craftsmanship, each piece in our collection is a testament to the enduring legacy of Chinese culture. These items all come together to form a unique and timeless assortment that reflects the splendor of museums and galleries, and invites you to bring a piece of this cultural heritage into your everyday life.

We’ve visited a myriad of museums and galleries, and we’ve been able to stay in different cities, where the awe-inspiring beauty of nature evokes wonder and stimulates our creativity. Whether it's the vastness of a mountain range, the tranquility of a beach, or the majesty of a forest, these natural wonders inspire us to appreciate the world's breathtaking diversity.

Beyond that, these cities have become an important source of our art pieces, where beauty meets industries. We did a lot of research and comparison. It’s how we decide whether we’d choose that place or that industry can lend help to us as we preserve and promote Chinese artistry. Currently, we’re sourcing bronze sculptures from Shandong, traditional Chinese paintings from Henan and Guangdong, calligraphy works from Shanxi, silks from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, ceramic tea sets from Fujian and Jiangxi, and figurines from Guangdong. By drawing inspiration from the diverse places in this country, we infuse our products with the essence of varied landscapes and the spirit of innovation that surrounds us.

Philosophies: The Ripple Effect of Inspiration

If you feel like inner piece, you can immerse yourself in the artistry of achieving Zen through Chinese calligraphy, traditional paintings, and the exquisite ritual of the ceramic tea ceremony. The rhythmic dance of the brush across paper in Chinese calligraphy becomes a meditation, a form of expression that transcends words and delves into the Zen ideal of living in the present moment. Traditional Chinese paintings, with their serene landscapes and subtle brushstrokes, transport you to a realm of contemplation, inviting you to find solace in simplicity and harmony. The ceramic tea ceremony, a centuries-old practice, transforms the act of tea preparation and consumption into a mindful ritual, fostering a sense of connection to both the self and the surrounding environment. Together, these art forms create a symphony of serenity, offering a pathway to achieve Zen—a harmonious union of mind, body, and spirit in the timeless traditions of Chinese artistic expression. Again, we encourage you to experience Chinese artistry with our one-stop services for a fulfilling immersion.

The truest form of inspiration often lies in the act of giving back—selfless gestures that create a ripple effect, transforming individuals and communities, and painting a better tomorrow. PYG has faith in the transformative power of giving back. Acknowledging our social responsibility and actively working towards positive change, we have initiated a partnership with UNICEF, where 1USD from every completed order goes towards supporting the well-being of children worldwide. Every purchase becomes a brushstroke in the canvas of positive change. It's not just about creating beautiful products; it's about contributing to a world where every child has the opportunity to flourish and thrive. Together with our customers, we are painting a better tomorrow for the generations to come.
